at Pandu-Lena (Pandav Caves) Nashik

It all started during our health regime in the morning at the badminton court. It was a unanimous decision to visit the Pandu-lena or the Pandav caves at a nearby hill top on Sunday the 5th of april 2014. Agenda – Health, Recreation and Game Planning…

On the day, we (me, Chaitali and Dora) were at the starting point at around 5:55 in the morning (25 mins plus the decided time). Soon, others joined in. We started for the caves at around 6:15 leaving behind 2 couples who were getting late and will be meeting us at the caves.

It was a beautiful morning. I don’t remember when we last woke up at 5:00 in the morning. The fresh air and the calmness felt great. When we parked our vehicles at the base of the hill it was almost 6:40 and to my surprise there were almost 20-25 cars already parked there before us. We got together took a snap and started the ascent.

The caves at the top are accessible through steps and through natural routes created by enthusiastic trekkers. We took the steps… casual ascent and welcome rests in between…

The children of the party were highly enthusiastic and were the first to reach the top. We followed up and soon the remaining people joined in and the team was complete.

Happy moments followed…walking as a group along side the caves with occasional peeps inside, enjoying the freshness of morning on a hill top, stopping for snaps here and there…

and of course glimpses of nature…

After an hour of all these we finally decided to settle down, selected a seclude corner, used the rocks as seats and started the game planning for the month. It was already 8:30 when it all ended and we decided to return back for the daily health regime – the game of Badminton…

It was a wonderful morning enjoyed to the fullest, completing our agenda – Health, Recreation and Game Planning at a place recognized by the Archaeological Society of India as one of Historical importance…
